Force Challenge Recap

The Bolingbrook Junior Raiders kicked off the IKWF season with a great showing at one of the toughest local tournaments. Many of the top clubs in Illinois were present at this years event including the Harvey Twisters, Martinez Fox Valley Elite, Crystal Lake Wizards and the host Force. Our club had 48 wrestlers compete, 31 of which placed in the top 3, 21 were in the finals, and 16 wrestlers came home with an individual title. Champions include Dylan Burnoski, Aaron Camacho, Gonzalo Camacho, Jacob Dado, David Delgado, Baylor Fernandes, Jean luc Guerra, Dominic, Hargrove, Ryan Krestel, Micheal Major, Mathew Ramos, Anthony Schickel, Emiliano Segura, Conor Smetana, Ronald Tucker, and Alex Villar.Runner up champs included Ashton Breen, Colin Kacena, Julian Medina, Jimmy Pierandozzi, Diego Segura. I was very proud of the way all of our boys competed yesterday and are excited about this years season, GO RAIDERS!

The Bolingbrook Junior Raiders took a trip to compete with our neighbors from up north and had a great showing by winning the Team Title. 25 Junior Raiders made the trip and 20 of the boys made it to the finals. 15 wrestlers came home with individual titles including Dylan Burnoski, Aaron Camacho, David Delgado, Javen Estrada, Cameron Hargrove, Luke Liberatore, Micheal Major, David Ochoa, Jimmy Pierandozzi, Marcus Poe, Matt Ramos, Xevion Rolle, Conor Smetana, Ronald Tucker, and Alex Villar. Runner up wrestlers include Gonzalo Camacho, Jean Luc Guerra, Dominic Hargrove, Jacob Liberatore, and Robert Major. I was very impressed with the way these boys came to compete. I am looking forward to the upcoming season and expect big things from all of our wrestlers!

49lb (6 Under) – Devin Aguirre
43lb (8 Under) – Aidan “Spider” Scholwin
90lb (10 Under) – Jacob Liberatore
92lb (12 Under) – Jimmy Pierandozzi
82lb (15 Under) – Matt Ramos
95lb (15 Under) – Dylan Burnoski
285lb (15 Under) – Ronald Tucker

*Out of the 7 wrestlers 4 made the podium. *
3rd place – Aidan “Spider” Scholwin (43lbs – 8 Under)
1st place – Jimmy Pierandozzi (92lbs – 12 Under)
6th place – Matt Ramos (82lbs – 15 Under)
1st place – Ronald Tucker (285lbs – 15 Under)

Honorable mention to:
Devin Aguirre, 49lbs (6 under), his first Kick Off showing. Tough matches for Devin and he battled strong through them all.
Jacob Liberatore, 90lbs (10 under) wrestled strong through 4 nail-biting matches.
Dylan Burnoski, 95lbs (15 under), a Jr. Raider Kick Off veteran seated in a loaded bracket. Dylan ran through the first day of competition but fell short of the podium day 2.
We are all so very proud of you for your hard work and dedication preparing for this tournament. Regardless, of your overall placements you are all CHAMPIONS.

Donovan Ford Folkstyle National Champion

Congratulation to Donovan Ford for winning the USAW/CK Folkstyle Nationals this weekend in Cedar Falls Iowa. Donovan won the heavyweight division in the Novice age group and beat Colten Wall from Wisconsin by fall in the finals. Three other wrestlers came home with All- American honors by placing at this event Ronald Tucker placed 3rd in the Heavyweight Schoolboy division, Dylan Burnoski placed 6th in the 84lb schoolboy, and Jimmy Pierandozzi also placed 8th in the 84lb division. These boys all battled this weekend and did a great job in what’s become one of the toughest folkstyle events. Go Raiders!

Nain Vazquez Wins Midget State Title

Congratulations to Nain Vazquez on winning the Midget State Title this past weekend in Danville. Nain dominated his opponents this weekend going 4-0 and beating Gannen Kane (King Select) 7-0 in the finals of the 72lb weight class. I would also like to recognize our placers at Midget State, Ison Robinson placed 3rd in the 115lb weight class. Robert Major came home with 4th place honors, Jacob Libeatore placed 5th, Troy Mutz placed 6th, and Gavin Jones placed 7th in the 89lb weight class. We placed in the top 10 (in the state) with only 9 wrestlers and 6 of the 9 made it to the podium, another great showing by our boys! Go Raiders!
