Although I was not in Springfield this past Sunday, I was able to follow the results from my phone on the way home from Tulsa Oklahoma. Boy was I impressed, we had 20 kids registered 15 made the finals and 9 came come with 1st place honors. Champions included Michael Major, Cortlen Armstrong, AJ Villar, Angel Mendez, Dangelo Fernandez, Nick Gantt, Robert Major, Ashton Breen, and Javen Estrada. Great job!

Aidan Scholwin became the 4th Junior Raider to win a Tulsa National Championship in as many years. Aidan joins Dylan Burnoski, Juwan Robinson, and Ronald Tucker as the only others to win what many consider the toghest event of the season. Aidan will make the trip to Reno Nevada to compete in the last leg of the Trinity Award (most prestigious award in youth wrestling). We had 4 other wrestlers bring home All American Honors this weekend Donovan Ford took second place in the 10 and Under event at Hwt, Baylor Fernandes had an outstanding weekend loosing a very close match by 1 point to take 4th place. Ronald Tucker placed at this event for the 2nd year in a row by placing 4th, and finaly Dylan Burnoski lost in the semi-finals to the eventual champion and cam home with a 6th place medal. Our kids did an outstanding job this past weekend, Im very proud of the way they wrestled.

This weekend the team attended two diffrent events (Martinez Open & Ultimate Contender. At the Martinez Open we had 25 wrestlers attend 15 of them either took 1st or 2nd, Champions included Cortlen Armstrong, Guiseppe Guerra, Angel Mendez, Rylan Breen, Nick Gantt and,Matt Ramos. In the other event we had 17 wrestlers attend 12 wrestlers were in the finals (7 champions). Champions at the Ultimate Contender included Josh Vasquez, Ryan Krestel,Dangelo Fernandez, Jimmy Pierandozzi, BaylorFernandes and, Ronald Tucker. Im very proud of all the boys that competed this weekend, next week the scheduled events are the Kids Open & Tulsa Nationals.

For the second week in a row the Junior Raiders won a team title. This time it was at our annual Bob Jahn Memorial. In a very competitive field we won the event followed by the Force who took second and Celtic Elite took third. 23 out of our 50 registered wrestlers were in the finals! 16 champions included Cortlen Armstrong, Rylan Breen, Dylan Burnoski, Payton Fernandes, Donovan Ford, Nick Gantt, Jean-Luc Guerra, Ryan Krestel, Angel Mendez, David Ochoa, Vince Ochoa, Jimmy Pierandozzi, Juwan Robinson, Sebastian Shered, Ronald Tucker, and Josh Vasquez. Congratulations to the Junior Raiders that competed at yesterdays Elite tournament in Dekalb Illinois. The Junior Raiders brought home the team title beating the Force Wrestling club by 26 points. We had 4 champions 62lbs Nain Vasquez, 74 Jimmy Pierandozzi, 79 Dylan Burnoski, and 130 Robert Goodwin. 16 out of our 17 wrestlers made it to the medal rounds here is the final results 55lbs Angel Mendez 2nd place, 55 Elias Medina 5th, 58 Nick Gantt 5th,66 David Ochoa 6th, 70 Alex Villar, 89 Aston Breen 6th, 95 Baylor Fernandes, 101 Corey Sapp 4th, 108 Tyler Krestel 6th, 115 Juwan Robinson 2nd, 122 Payton Fernandes 3rd, and 215 Ronald Tucker 3rd.
